How fitting that the first annual Library of Congress Gershwin Prize was recently bestowed on composer, troubadour and twelve-time Grammy-award winner Paul Simon. We will feature works by Gershwin and Simon, enhancing that natural fit with an appearance by the multi-talented vocalist Kate McGarry.

First captivating Americans in the 1960s with its haunting melodies and sultry beat, the music of Brazilian composer Antonio Carlos Jobim has enjoyed immense popularity ever since. Here we explore his more famous tunes like Desafinado and Waters of March , and also lesser known contributions like Dindi and Look to the Sky.
